Same-Day Sick Visits

When you are sick, you should see the clinician who already knows you, not whoever is on shift at an urgent care.

IM Clinic offers same-day and next-day appointments for established patients who become ill. Because we already have your history and medication list, these visits are usually faster and better informed than an urgent care visit, and everything stays in one chart.

Who this is for

Same-day visits are for established patients, meaning anyone we have seen before. This is not a walk-in clinic, and holding these slots for our own patients is exactly what makes them available when you need one. If you are not yet a patient, becoming one is straightforward and takes a few minutes online.

What we handle same-day

Respiratory infections, sore throats, sinus and ear infections, urinary tract infections, stomach illness, rashes and skin infections, minor injuries, flares of a condition we already manage, and new symptoms that worry you and should not wait.

When to go elsewhere

Call 911 or go to an emergency room for chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, severe bleeding, or any symptom that feels life-threatening. We are a clinic, not an emergency department, and we would always rather you err toward the ER.

How to get a same-day slot

Call (256) 715-9598 as early in the day as you can. Morning calls have the best availability. Tell the front desk what is going on and they will find the first appropriate opening. Some concerns can be handled the same day by video visit instead.

Common questions

Do you take walk-ins?

No. Same-day visits are scheduled by phone and reserved for established patients. Call (256) 715-9598 and we will find you the first available slot.

What if I am not an established patient yet?

Register at new.imclinic.org or call us. Once you are established, same-day access is part of being our patient.

Is this cheaper than urgent care?

A visit with your own clinic is typically billed as a standard office visit under your insurance, which for most plans costs less than an urgent care visit. Your exact cost depends on your plan, so call us and we can check.
