The Internal Medicine Clinic (IM Clinic) was established in 2018 by Dr. Omer Iqbal. Dr. Iqbal grew up in Scottsboro, Alabama and is passionate about establishing long lasting relationships with his patients. His primary focus is on the health and well-being of each individual through care, compassion, and personalized medical care.
Dr Iqbal graduated from Scottsboro High School in 2006. He went on to complete his bachelors of science from UAB in 2009. Thereafter, he enrolled in the UAB School of Public Health obtaining a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in 2011. His area of interest and degree focus was in Health Behavior and Global Health. He matriculated to medical school and graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia Campus in 2015. Finally, he completed his post-graduate medical training in internal medicine through the UAB Internal Medicine Residency Program - Huntsville Regional Medical Campus in 2018.
Dr. Iqbal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Click here to verify current certification status on the official ABIM website. He also maintains his priveleges at Huntsville Hospital as well as Encompass Health Rehab Hospital.
Our focus is on adult medicine. An internists' training is focused towards both prevention and treatment of adult illnesses including diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, asthma, COPD along with acute illnesses such as the common cold.

Our annual exams are geared towards developing a customized plan for you. Sometimes, the best treatment is prevention! Our primary focus is on your overall wellness.
Often times a particular illness requires an interdisciplinary approach. We coordinate your referrals to specialists such as cardiologist and pulmonologist to ensure you receive the best treatment options available.
Occasionally you get the flu or strep throat, can't shake the cold, or need to be seen quicker. We work our patients in the same day or the next for urgent care visits.
